This is Mukaishima, a small island in the Seto Inland Sea.

It is located 5 minutes by boat from Onomichi on the mainland.

It blooms in May.

One day, all of a sudden, I felt that scent. Then, take a deep breath. A refreshing, deep, and clean scent.

The petals are porcelain white with a yellow petal in the middle.

As summer passes and autumn arrives, the very early vines appear. and,Until the end of spring, countless citrus trees cover the island.

Shimanami blue

Just a 10-minute walk will take you to the sea, woven by the beauty of the Seto Inland Islands.

 

Enjoy the blue, calm scenery with all five senses, which is a little different from the bustling sea on the mainland (Onomichi Channel).

Take the ferry from Onomichi Station
go on a journey

A 5-minute boat ride from JR Onomichi Station will take you to Mukaishima.

It takes about 10 minutes by car from the pier to Mukojima's house. Taxi cost approximately 1,500 yen.

 

If you make a reservation, we can also provide transportation to and from the pier. Up to 3 people.

Shimanami cycling, something you want to do at least once in your life

The Shimanami Kaido Cycling Road was selected as one of the 9 most beautiful cycling routes in the world in 2018.

Mukojima House is located on Mukojima, the first island from Onomichi, the starting point. It's about 800 meters up the hill from the coastal cycling road, but it's only a 5-minute detour by bicycle.

You can rent bicycles at the cycling terminal on the island (Onomichi Civic Center Mukaishima). Mukojima's house also has a storage room where you can safely store your bicycle.

-Omoya-

``Omoya'' is an old folk house built 50 years ago.

 

The ``Japanese'' techniques of the island's carpenters shine through this two-room 8-tatami (with alcove) and 6-tatami Japanese-style rooms + porch.

 

Limited to one group per day.

The toilet with washlet, bathroom, kitchen, and Western-style room are shared with the host, Hiromi.

Prices start from 8,000 yen per person per night (for 2 or more people, an additional 4,000 yen per additional person). Accommodates up to 4 people.

​Mukojima house detached house

-Hanare-

"Hanare" is an old folk house built 100 years ago.

 

The building, which has been vacant for many years, will be renovated in the spring of 2021.

 

It is an 8 tatami Japanese-style room with a mini-kitchen, a verandah, a toilet with a washlet, a Goemon bath, and is also equipped with a TV, microwave, refrigerator, and washing machine.

 

This is a private house that emphasizes privacy and is limited to one group per day.

Prices start from 10,000 yen per person per night (plus 5,000 yen per additional person for 2 or more people).Accommodates up to 5 people.
